Combination Technician

About the Role

  • Ability to interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions from written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Must be able to respond to on-call or emergency maintenance situations.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.

What We're Looking For

  • Knowledge and skills usually acquired through an associate degree in telecommunications or related field or applicable training.
  • 5+ years related experience.
  • Computer literacy including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and our industry’s billing. 
  • Knowledge of testing, switching, and electronic equipment, and all types of cable.
  • Familiarity with cable records, staking sheets, specifications, and circuit diagrams.
  • Understanding of digital technology and preventive maintenance procedures.

What You'll Do

  • Install and maintain fiber optic systems
  • Perform ONT installations, inside wiring, and multi-line system setups
  • Locate, splice, and troubleshoot equipment
  • Operate construction equipment and support infrastructure projects
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation
  • Collaborate with team members on projects
  • Participate in an on-call rotation for service needs
