Meet Minburn Communications Staff: Keetah Dodson
A Northwest Iowa Native, Keetah Dodson has been working in the telecommunications industry for over 17 years. In the spring of 2012, Keetah brought her wealth of industry knowledge and passion to serve customers to Minburn Communications.
When Keetah joined Minburn Communications, the company was in the midst of deploying fiber optic connections to customers in Minburn as well as preparing to expand their fiber network into Woodward and Perry. Keetah states, “I quickly learned that Minburn Communications has a small and mighty team of multi-tasking, talented professionals – I was excited to join these co-workers and, today, am proud to be a part of an organization that is serious about serving our communities. Every day I get to work with a fabulous team of Customer Service Representatives, Sales Associates, Technicians and Management who are committed to delivering a Hometown Touch experience in our growing service areas. It’s exciting for me to work for a company that offers Gig service, new technologies and incredibly fast, reliable connections in rural Iowa.”
As the Customer Service & Project Management Manager, Keetah’s daily responsibilities range from sales and billing to service orders and trouble ticket management. In addition, she works with staff to prepare and implement state and federal regulatory filings and requirements.
Last fall, Keetah expanded her ‘skills’ to include experience with power tools and construction. As a representative of Minburn Communications’ Community Impact Team, she volunteered at Perry’s Habitat for Humanity’s Rock the Block. “I have zero experience with any power tools or construction,” she says with a chuckle. “Participating in this event was quite an adventure! My co-worker taught me how to run a chop saw, drill and Sawzall and together with our team, we built a railing and wheel chair accessible ramp.”
Other skills beyond the workplace include her love for cooking and raising a family full of chefs. Along with her partner, Auston, she uses her project management and multi-tasking skills to organize schedules for six active kids and one 100+lb malamute while preparing the perfect beef wellington dinner and cheering on the Red Sox!
