Perry Lutheran Homes Receives Grant to Support Vital Meals on Wheels Program

June 3, 2024 (Perry, IA) – Perry Lutheran Homes received a grant totaling $1,000, with Minburn Communications and Aureon each donating $500. This grant is in support of the Meals on Wheels program, a critical initiative that provides nutritious meals and fosters social connections to older adults residing in Perry, Minburn, Dallas Center, Granger, and Woodward throughout the year.

Perry Lutheran Homes Meals on Wheels focuses on caring for older adults or others in need who are homebound because of illness, physical or mental impairment, who are unable to shop for food and/or prepare food independently, or who are otherwise isolated. The program prepares, cooks, transports, and delivers over 20,000 meals annually. However, the service extends beyond meal delivery; it also includes daily visits and wellness checks by the program’s drivers.
