Kendall fiber splicing

Meet Minburn Communications Staff: Kendall Abbey

“Call before you dig.” These are the words of advice from Telecommunications & Facilities Maintenance Technician, Kendall Abbey.  With a strong background in construction, Kendall recognizes the risks involved when trenching ditches or simply digging a hole. On a regular basis, Kendall can be found installing new fiber routes, locating existing fiber utilities, splicing fiber, connecting and servicing customers, and maintaining facilities for Minburn Communications.

Kendall started his career in the telecommunications industry in 2012 and joined Minburn Communications in 2016. He has enjoyed being able to broaden his skills as a heavy equipment operator as well as become a very talented fiber splicer. He is proud to work for a company that delivers a complete fiber-to-the-home service to rural Iowa communities. “The network connectivity and infrastructure deployed by Minburn Communications just doesn’t experience the kind of problems other types of plants have. Continually hearing from customers about how great of a company we are to work with and how we deliver a superior product is always refreshing to hear.” says Kendall.

Outside of work hours, Kendall enjoys weightlifting, golf and spending time with his fiancé, daughters, family and friends.
