WOODWARD, IA – Minburn Communications has recently started notifying both residential and business customers in rural Perry that they are bringing them Fiber Internet, starting later this year. The company also offers TV and phone services.

Rural Perry is part of a previously announced multi-year fiber expansion plan, partially funded by an award from the State of Iowa’s Empower Rural Iowa Broadband Grant Program. This project will bring ultra-fast internet to underserved and unserved areas.

In addition to rural Perry, the expansion plan includes rural areas of Adel, Dallas Center, and parts of Waukee. Over the past few years, Minburn Communications has been building its network to reach customers who previously lacked access to high-quality Internet. With the company’s advanced Fiber Internet technology, residents and businesses in these rural areas will now enjoy ultra-fast and reliable Internet.

Construction of the fiber-to-the-home network in rural Perry will begin in late spring and continue all throughout the 2025 and 2026 construction seasons. The project is divided into two main areas: north of Highway 141 and south of Highway 141. The company expects to start building the southern half first, but work will be done in both project areas during 2025.

“The construction of a new fiber network takes some time to build, but our customers attest that fiber is definitely worth the wait! New customers will get access to a network and services that less than 40% of Iowa customers have today,” said Douglas Pals, General Manager of Minburn Communications. “Customers want a great Internet experience, and our fiber Internet will ensure that they get the great Internet they deserve.”

Minburn Communications is currently reaching out to eligible customers in the build areas and accepting sign-ups. Build maps can be found on the company website. According to Pals, interested customers can visit https://minburncomm.com/ to learn more and get signed up.

“We know understanding ‘speeds’ can be difficult. Speed is just a shortcut to understand ‘bandwidth,’ which lets you know how many devices you can connect to your Internet connection and how much you can do with those connected devices. When customers take our product, they never have to worry about their connection; we’ve got the Internet speed they will need today and into the future,” concluded Pals.

The Minburn Communications fiber network will deliver ‘speeds’ up to 1 Gig (1,000 Mbps.) And all their Internet products deliver ultra-fast, symmetrical Internet (which means the same speeds for upload and download).
