Minburn Communications Hires Company’s Next General Manager

Minburn, Iowa – July 22, 2024 – The Minburn Communications Board of Directors is pleased to announce the hiring of Douglas Pals as the company’s next General Manager. He will start in September and will work alongside current GM/CEO, Debra Lucht, through December of this year. Pals will assume responsibility for the company in January and accept the CEO role after the company’s annual meeting in April of 2025.

“We are pleased to have found someone who has a passion for our industry, understands our company history and has a vision for the future,” says Board President Dan Case. “Deb has led our company in an extraordinary manner for 18 years. When she announced her plans to retire, we knew it was vital to follow the plan we had in place to assure a smooth transition. We think it is helpful to have Deb and Doug work in concert through the end of the year to allow Doug to get up to speed with our staff members, the leaders in the communities where we serve, as well as the activities, projects and processes of our company.”

Pals has a long history in the independent communications industry in Iowa. He will join Minburn Communications after serving the last 4 years as the Chief Experience Officer at FMTC of Stanton, and the last 22 years as founder and CEO of Re:Sourceful Communications. Becky Collins, who has been with Re:Sourceful for 18 years and who has been planning to assume leadership, will run the firm starting in August of this year. Pals has also had roles with Jefferson Telecom (’94-’98) and Alpine Communications (’98-’02).
